Hii my name is Fagr, pronounced fa-jer, which means “Dawn” in Arabic. I am majoring in Political Science and completing the Intensive Human Rights Certificate. Most recently, I studied abroad in Jordan and Spain to learn more about refugees, health, and humanitarian action in the Middle East and volunteered internationally with the UN World Food Programme. On campus, I served as the MENACC Head Peer Liaison, the Pierson Head Office Aide, on the Muslim Student Association board, and as a delegate on Yale’s Model UN Team.
I am a proud native New Yorker, eldest daughter, and writer. I enjoy performing my spoken word poetry, storytelling and street photography, and only watching soccer games when my country is playing in the World Cup.
