Hello Party People! My name is Paulo, I’m from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and I am studying biomedical engineering! I’m a Dean’s Research Fellow in the Kyriakides Lab, Yale School of Medicine, investigating diabetic cardiomyopathy, wound healing, and tissue engineering. My research interests also include evidence-based medicine and global health, and my next academic endeavour after college will be pursuing an MD/PhD program. Outside of class and lab, you can find me entertaining my friends with my bad jokes, DJing, working out at PWG, and catching flights around the world (15 countries and counting!). I was also the co-president of the Brazil Club at Yale, and I’m very involved in the club activities and events! Together with Rena, I was a head counselor for OIS (OIS in Orbit ‘25), which helped me get involved with the international community at Yale since my first year! Fun fact — I love a side quest, so don’t be surprised if you find me as a chair for Yale Model Congress, in a conference in a random law firm in NYC, or hiking in the parks around campus. I’m so excited to meet you all and work with the other Pierson FroCos to welcome you to Yale and have a blast in our duty nights!
